Burt Kwouk

Burt Kwouk , is a - actor who was born in Manchester, but was raised in Shanghai between the ages of ten months and seventeen years.

He has appeared in numerous films and programmes over the years and is perhaps most famous for playing Cato, Inspector Clouseau's man-servant in the ''Pink Panther'' films.
His sharp features also meant that he has played his fair share of baddies, and appeared in two James Bond films, '''' as an eastern agent counterpart of Bond's and in '''' as one of the Japanese operatives and announcers of Ernst Stavro Blofeld in his volcano base.

Another notable film role was in ''The Inn of the Sixth Happiness'' as the leader of a prison revolt who later aids the main character in leading orphans to safety and heroically dies to save them.

During the 1970s, Kwouk featured in many UK television productions that called for a man of East Asian appearance. As a result, Kwouk became something of a cult figure in the United Kingdom. He would appear as himself in ''''. He currently has a recurring role in the long-running series Last of the Summer Wine.
